History of the origin of the breed
As already noted, the Samoyed dog is the oldest breed, named after the native natives of the Samoyeds, once residing in the regions of the Urals and Siberia. The Samoyeds were nomads, so they needed loyal and enduring helpers. Animals grazed cattle, participated in hunting, nursed children and carried sleighs on deep snow, they were absolutely not afraid of frosts.
The development of the breed outside the tribes began due to the fact that the zoologist Ernst Kilburn-Scott drew attention to the samoyeds and after the next expedition to the North he brought several dogs to England. These individuals are still considered the founders of the breed of Western Samoyed Laika.
Ernst Kilburn-Scott owned the first kennel of this breed, he also became the founder of the world's first club. In the same year 1909, an official standard was established.
It is worth noting that, despite the long history of the breed, the dogs have not changed much. They are distinguished by the developed intellect, endurance and ability to perform commands from the first time.

The nature of Samoyed
Representatives of this breed have lived side by side with man for many millennia, participating in many aspects of life. This made them friendly, gentle, able to compromise animals. The Samoyed Laika is a wonderful family dog and a company dog. They are distinguished by playfulness and enthusiasm, they communicate perfectly with everyone - people and animals.
If something disturbs them, they will vote, but because of friendliness and gullibility of thoroughbred representatives, effective guards do not work. Samoyeds do not like to be alone, they feel great in the family and participate in all events. These dogs require attention, so start a similar pet is not worth it to people who do not have free time. If the dog does not do it properly, she will get bored.
In addition, prolonged loneliness can lead to psychological problems of the animal, the disorder can manifest itself in the form of excessive barking and chewing. Owners of Samoyed Laika do not face special problems in training their pets, as these animals are very smart and smart. But there are individuals who are distinguished by an independent and stubborn character. Such dogs are suitable only for experienced owners who can communicate with such dogs.
Samoyeds find a common language with children, but their assertiveness is not suitable for kids. They can also be kept with other pets, however, they can be regarded as small animals as a prey. If you need a quiet, calm pet, then the Samoyed dog is not your option. They are noisy, active, in need of intensive training and constant contact. Puppies Samoyeds are too hooligans, and their mischief is saved for at least 2 years.

Education and Samoyed training
It may seem that the foundations of correct behavior have already been laid in Samoyed, but this is only partly true. The existing skills require adjustment and consolidation. Training should be done from the age of 3 months, however, education begins with the first days of the appearance of the pet in the house.
It is important to use various methods - forcing the pet to act and encouraging properly performed tasks. Moreover, it is important to ensure that the puppy performs one command 3-4 times, without shirking, otherwise one-time disobedience will grow into a systematic disobedience. Owners are advised to avoid physical impact, as this can significantly damage the self-esteem and dignity of the pet.
In dressing the "wolf pack" method is used - the owner takes the leading position. Such a principle should be maintained in all aspects, including feeding the pet after all members of the family have eaten. The owner of the house crosses the threshold first, but only after him the dog. To four-legged friend does not interfere, it is important to provide his personal place.
Care and maintenance of Samoyed dogs
Samoyeds are universal - they perfectly get along in the house or apartment and are great for street maintenance. They are not afraid of heat and frost. But a street pet will need an aviary, a booth with a litter. Already acquiring a dog, the owner must determine whether she is just a friend or a star of exhibitions. Naturally, caring for a show class dog will be more difficult.
As for the domestic dog, the pet should be washed once every 6-12 months, as the wool cover has the property of self-cleaning. Use special detergents . Dogs of this breed practically do not publish specific aromas. They molt depending on the sex - males once a year, females - twice. A thick wool coat requires regular combing with brushes or pouches, and during the moulting it will have to be done daily, especially if the dog lives in the house.
Ears are required a couple of times a week to inspect and, if necessary, clean using cotton pads, impregnated with cleaning compounds. Claws are clipped when necessary, and long hair near the fingers must necessarily be cut.
Since Samoyed Laika have long been used as working dogs, they still require intensive workload. Walking them is recommended 2 times a day, and this should be active walks. Despite the fact that the Samoyeds perfectly tolerate the heat, they should not be trained at this time, it is better to take them out in the morning and in the evening.
To brighten up the loneliness of the pet, you can offer him special devices - balls, toys, peeples and stuff. The Samoyed dog needs constant communication - this is one of the most important conditions in keeping a pet of this breed.
Taking a puppy from a breeder, it is necessary to feed him for the first time in the same way as he ate before, so the new pet will have less cause for stress, and it adapts faster. It is necessary to consult and in occasion of the further feeding of a dog of the given breed.
Give food out of hands or put it on the floor is not recommended. Puppy should eat from his own bowl, which is placed on a stand of appropriate height. This contributes to the development of proper posture and excludes the curvature of the limbs. As the pet grows, the bowl should rise.
Samoyeds are predators and should eat meat, however, and the diversity of the diet should not be forgotten. Beef, lamb, chicken, turkey is suitable for feeding the dog, but pork for the dog's diet is not suitable - it contains too much fat, and, in addition, there is a risk of infection of the animal with parasites.
Meat is given in boiled form or cheese - pre-scalded with steep boiling water. It is cut into small pieces, but experts do not advise feeding the pet with minced meat. In addition to meat, you can include well-cooked by-products in the dog's menu. They are rich in protein and micronutrients.
Puppies should be given cottage cheese, as the calcium contained in it contributes to the full growth of the baby. This micronutrient can be purchased at the pharmacy or added powder from the egg shell into the food. Also dogs should be treated with dairy and sour-milk products. Milk is fed only to toddlers, teenage puppies and adult dogs given kefir, fermented milk, sour milk, varenets, yoghurt without additives.
Eggs are included in the diet in boiled form, but they should not be given more often than once a week. In addition to protein foods, animals need to consume carbohydrate foods. These include cereals (rice, buckwheat, oats) cooked on meat, vegetable broths or water. Salt should not be added and beans should also be discarded.
Another useful ingredient for excellent digestion is fiber. It is found in vegetables that can be given in raw and boiled form. Not the most useful vegetable is the potato, since it contains a lot of starch.
The regime should be respected, the dog should get used to eating at the same time. Food should be given fresh and warm. If the dog does not eat the proposed portion, using only the most attractive, in his opinion, pieces, you need to remove the bowl and in the next feeding to offer the pet a little more modest.
Do not indulge the pet if he begs for food. Delicacies are used only as a reward for correctly performed tasks, and not just to pamper the dog. Otherwise, the clever dog will become a "professional" beggar, or even try to steal "bad" lying food.
To feed the pet with natural food or ready-made dry rations, each owner decides individually. Of course, the second option saves time, and dry food contains useful substances, but it's worth choosing premium and super premium products. Only then the food will be really full. In this case, you can diversify the diet with canned goods of the same brand, as a yummy, give the pet pieces of boiled meat or offal, fruits - apples and pears.
However, there are a number of products that are strictly forbidden to give to animals, this list includes mushrooms, pickles, sweets, smoked products, sausages.
