Khatiko - breed of dog Akita Inu

When there were representatives of the Akita Inu breed

If you look into history, then the Akita Inu are among the oldest breeds of dogs. Scientists, thoroughly studying the origin of numerous archaeological excavations, were able to find out that in the second millennium BC in Japan lived pets of this breed. In addition, images of dogs very similar to akita-inu are present in the drawings of the times of antiquity.

To study the origin of Akita-Inu could not be ascertained, its roots were so deeply gone. There is a theory that these animals descended from a spitz-shaped dog from China and ancient mastiffs . It is also believed that the Akita is a descendant of the Siberian husky and mastiff. But, despite the external similarities, there is nothing common with northern dogs and Akita.

Exotic in our ear name, in fact this is not. The Japanese did not fantasize much, in translation "Akita" is the name of one of the provinces in Japan, "inu" is translated like a dog.

Studies have shown that the breed in the form in which it now exists, was formed as early as the 17th century and has not yet changed. Akita Inu are unique also because they are truly purebred, and their breeding activity has not touched.

In those days the Akitou inu were not simple dogs, only the most distinguished noblemen could afford to be a pupil of this breed. In the imperial family, representatives were in a special position. But it happened not at once.
Hachiko history

Initially, thoroughbred dogs performed hunting and security functions in the homes of ordinary people, but by the 18th century the situation had changed, and the Akit significantly improved their status. At that time, a new decree appeared, according to which a person who killed or offended a representative of this breed was subjected to cruel punishment. And in a short time Akita Inu turned out to be an elite breed, inaccessible to peasants.

Naturally, this could not but affect the development and distribution of the breed. According to the Japanese love of ceremonies, caring for the pet has turned into a real ritual. Akita Inu began to correspond to the rank of their owners. Special attributes, the presence of one's own servant spoke about this. Looking at the Akita, it was possible to determine the status of its owner.

In 1927, a special Society was formed, whose activities were aimed at preserving the breed. They also monitored the cleanliness of the breed, not allowing crossbreeding with other representatives.

Of course, World War II had a significant impact on the breed, since almost all of its representatives were at the front. Then the process of breeding almost stopped. But still some pets with clean blood managed to be saved, they possessed all qualities inherent in akita-inu.

In the XIX century, representatives of other breeds began to appear on the territory of the country. The Japanese had a desire to receive on the basis of Akita with the addition of blood, Great Danes, St. Bernards, Bulldogs, dogs, possessing a more aggressive character, to use them for protection purposes. Then absolutely new breeds appeared - karafuto (Sakhalin husky) and tosa-inu (dog from the principality of Tosu).

This somewhat influenced the Akita breed. Their descendants have acquired a more dense physique and a little aggression in character.

Descriptive characteristic

Description of Akita-inu (hachiko)

Akita is a 100% Japanese dog, which is home to the northern regions of the country. Initially, she performed two functions - security and hunting. Today, the range of her duties has expanded, but most often Akita is used as a companion dog.

Akita Inu is a whole set of positive characteristics that four-legged friends can possess. No negative features - only positive and joy of communicating with this dog.

The fun and mischief with which the puppies of this breed are endowed does not vanish throughout the life of the dog. Akitas are balanced dogs, without signs of aggression.

They will not get involved in a fight, not evaluating the situation and their own strengths. The intellectual indicators of the Akita at the height, they really have wisdom and wisdom that have been accumulating over the centuries.

There is only one negative feature in the nature of these dogs - pathological curiosity. Akita simply must be aware of everything that is happening, and for this she will try to explore all the corners in the house. Even a small noise can tear her from her work and make her rush to find the source. But this quality is weakening over the years, making Akita less curious and more phlegmatic.

The nature of the Akita allows the animal to be kept, as in a large family, and to make from it a companion for one person. For the parents, such a pet is a real find, which can entertain even the tiniest of the kids for hours.

Do not think that a dog without human intervention will be able to show all of its qualities, given by nature. Her upbringing should be done, from the very appearance in the house until the last days. By the way, Akita Inu has the longest childhood among dogs - she is considered a puppy up to 2.5 years old. Only constantly communicating with the animal, you can grow a smart and faithful family member.

Pedigree pets are very friendly, and for all members of the family. But only on condition of complete reciprocity. It is worth knowing that Akita can appreciate a good attitude to herself. Possessing an independent appearance, this dog is submissive and does not tend to disobedience and bad deeds.

Akita-inu is wary of strangers, this concerns strangers. Other dogs they regard as invaders of personal territory, and can rush into battle. Experienced breeders attribute this quality to a sense of dominance inherent in nature.
